Welcome to the delightful world of Tex Miller, a charming establishment that has become a beloved icon in Cameron, Texas. Nestled at 104 N Fannin Ave, this vintage burger stand has been serving up mouthwatering classics since 1937. With its old-school vibe and community-oriented atmosphere, Tex Miller is more than just a place to grab a bite; it’s a nostalgic experience that transports you back in time.

Upon arriving, you're greeted by a menu that focuses on simplicity and quality. Whether you're a fan of juicy burgers, uniquely crafted chili dogs, or the unforgettable smash burger, you're in for a treat. The food is made to order, ensuring each item is fresh and full of flavor. Local patrons rave about the “Double Double” burger—an explosion of taste nestled between grilled buns—and the chili dogs, where the hot dogs are generously cut and mixed into a zesty chili. As one enthusiastic customer, James Richardson, notes, it may very well be the best burger in the area.

What truly sets Tex Miller apart is the warmth of its service. Guests often describe the staff as family, fostering an environment that feels personal and welcoming. This was evident from the story of a family who traveled over two hours just to dine at Tex Miller—without hesitation, the staff extended their hours to accommodate them, creating an unforgettable experience filled with engaging conversation and joyful interactions. This commitment to hospitality shines through every detail.

Seating is quaint and retro, often reminiscent of school days, where patrons enjoy their meals on old desks transformed into makeshift dining spots. It's all part of the charm, and as customer Charlotte W points out, you shouldn't expect anything fancy—just a few choices crafted with love and care. And it’s a pleasure to watch your food being prepared right in front of you. The experience feels genuine, and each bite takes you deeper into a culinary time warp.

If you find yourself in the area or even embarking on a road trip, don't miss the chance to visit Tex Miller. With its limited but delightful menu and heartwarming service, it’s an experience that surely leaves a lasting impression, making you want to return again and again. As Justin Pope so aptly remarked, “What an awesome classic establishment.” A visit to Tex Miller promises not just a meal, but a cherished memory.

Great old school burger stand. Great atmosphere. Fantastic service and conversation. Quite possibly the best burger in the area. Just look at the pics. Will definetly go back soon.

I just found out about this place and it is really good! It's a little dive hole in the wall that someone told me has been around since 1937, so don't expect anything fancy or an extensive menu. But if you want a good, old fashioned burger, this is the place! Can't wait to go back!

This place is a trip back in time. I doubt anything has changed. The menu choices are few but with options as your food is made to order. Very limited seating in a small space. Rather than wait, we walked over to the park a couple of blocks away and ate under the gazebo. The chili dogs are unique in that they cut up the wiener in the chili. The burgers can be a little messy with all the goodies inside. Really neat in that you can watch your food being prepared right in front of you.

The best smash burger I ever had. Great friendly service. Sitting on an old school desk while eating was awesome, brought back old memories.

I cannot recommend Tex Miller’s enough. I had recently heard of them on TV and we were road tripping for Spring Break so they were our dinner destination of choice. Only issue was we were 2.5 hours away and I wasn’t sure of their hours during the middle of the week on a Wednesday. I called around 1:00 and asked their hours, which happened to be 11-5 today. I explained where we weee driving from, and it would be really close to 5:00 but we’d try to get there before. Their response: “Oh don’t worry, we’ll stay open for you. Just call us when you get on the road.” I asked multiple times if they were sure, as I didn’t want to make them stay late. I even offered to order ahead and they said “don’t worry, you told us you are coming and you are worth the wait.” We got in the car and our ETA was 5:01 PM so I called back and they assured me they would stay open for us. The anticipation of driving 2.5 hours for burgers and chili dogs with the family was tough. Let me tell you, it was SOOOOO worth it. We pulled in at 5:00 on the dot, and sure enough, Cindy (who I spoke with on the phone) and Gwen (the owner) were waiting for our family of 4 as if we had been personally invited to family dinner. They took our order, made us fresh burgers and chili dogs, gave my children the experience of picking whatever drink they wanted from an old school slide top cooler and we watched and chatted as they made us dinner. It was phenomenal!!! Truly homemade start to finish. The freshest fixings. The chili with hot dogs (yes...chili first, hot dogs in it) was amazing and like nothing I’d had before. The burger (Double Double) was so good and fresh fresh meat on a toasted bun. My kiddos loved their bacon cheeseburger and cheeseburger and my wife enjoyed her all the way cheeseburger. So spot on! And we talked like we were family the entire time. They tanked us and we thanked them and took pictures together. Such an amazing restaurant and experience. We will be back!

What an awesome classic establishment. I visit Cameron often and this is my first visit and won't be the last! The griddle is so seasoned the patties need nothing but that. I also had the Frito pie, chili was incredible and had cut up hotdogs in it. It was so good I forgot to take picture of the actual food. I highly recommend!

After watching the Texas Bucket list we had to stop in at this place. Definately lived up to its billing. The building may be small but there was plenty of places to sit since they use seats like desks used in middle/high school. Menu posted outside or right behind the grill. Choose your main item and then add chips and a drink...just figure out if you want a can or bottle. If you want fries, you won't find them here. Ordered a cheese burger with grilled onions, ketchup, mustard, pickle and original mayonaisse. An order of a chilly cheese dog and a grilled cheese closed out our order. Very reasonably priced, but the real treat is how good everything tastes. Before we left our photo was taken and they asked where we were from. It's worth going out of your way for this one of a kind experience.

I drove nearly 2.5 hours from Arlington and it was worth the trip. I was really wanting to try the chili but they had already sold out. I guess that just means another trip (maybe I will convince some friends to take a roadtrip).
